Description

Vegas Golf: The ultimate on-the-course gambling game. Vegas Golf consists of real casino style chips, the object is to avoid the negative and obtain the positive chips. The High Roller edition features Vegas Golf's 8 original chips plus 6 new fun chips. Only one game is needed per foursome. Includes 14 main chips - 5 positive, 8 negative, and a wild card: Positive: 1 Putt, Birdie (1 under par), Chip in (chip in from off green), Sandy (up and down from sand trap in 2), Closest to the pin (closest to pin on par 3s) Negative: Water (ball goes into water), 8 Ball (8 or more strokes on a hole), 3 Putt Sand (ball goes into sand trap), Trees (ball hits a tree), Out of bounds (can include talking on cell phone), Lost Ball (5 minute limit), Un Lucky Seven (exactly seven strokes) Wild Card (positive or negative, group determines purpose of chip before teeing off) How to Play: The first player to hit a shot that corresponds with the designation on the chip is given that chip. He keeps that chip until someone else hits the same shot. The chip is then passed to the next player who makes that same shot. Example play: if a player goes into the sand, he holds that chip until another player goes into the sand. He then passes the chip to that player. The same holds true for the positive chips. The last player to get a one putt or a birdie is the one who gets the chip. Now for the good part! At the beginning of the round, each chip is assigned a designated dollar value. At the end of the round, those players holding the negative chips pay each player the designated amount for each chip he is holding. Those holding the positive chip will receive the same amount from each of the other players. The payoff is determined by the last golfer holding the chip. The cash-in is at the 19th hole.

The chip game is very fun, but after losing a few of the chips, I bought another set and proceeded to lose a few more. These are not the cheapest things to buy, so decided to buy a bag of 100 wooden poker size chips from Amazon for $7.99 and simply use a Sharpie pen to make my own. No they're not as colorful, but the purpose is served. My group has made up new things that are worth positive or negative for money. For example--a "hazard par" where if you have to take a drop, but still par the hole or better, it's worth money. A silly, but fun negative coin we made up is the "wrong cart" coin where if someone in your group goes to put his clubs back in his bag but discovers he's at the wrong cart, that's a negative coin. .More we made up for coins are "6 on a par 3", "Shank-potamus" , "4 putt", "par-par", "birdie-birdie" and the vineyard coin (we play at Chardonnay at Napa and the course has many vineyards along the course). The possibilities are endless
